Treasures - Cross Stitch

It's been 10 years since I last picked up my needle and cross-stitched.  Not sure why I stopped, I'd been stitching for 30 odd years and remember the very first kit I purchased in a little store in Bath, England when I still lived there.  It was an initial A with a girl draped down one side.  If I find it in all my boxes to be unpacked, I will post a photo soon.

Anyway, I have stitched so many things over the years, for me...for our house...for the kids...for friends and family.  Wedding announcements, birth announcements, new home, birthdays, Christmas...you name it, I have probably cross-stitched it at some time. I even did a few of my own designs.

Because we moved into our new home a month ago, have a wedding to plan next year and recently lost our little toy poodle of 15 years, I wanted to start something new.  A family tree.

This is an old Dimensions kit I had not opened, can't remember if I purchased it, or my Mum sent it to me years ago.  I usually find the centre of the fabric, centre stitch and start from there...working my way up to the top...then down to the bottom.  I will post some pictures as I progress.

So what are you stitching right now?  Comment below and let me know.

Have a fabulous weekend!
Cheers

Tuesday Treat

Made these fabulous treats on the weekend.  Thought I would share with you just how simple and easy they are to make...and if you are on Weight Watchers, only 2 points each or 5 points for two mini muffins.  Just perfect with a cup of tea.

Pumpkin Spice Mini Muffins

Here is what you will need to make them.  A tin of Pumpkin Pie filling and a box of cake mix, plus 1/4 cup water.  I used Duncan Hines Spice Cake mix.

Mix the cake mix, with pumpkin pie filling and the water...no need for eggs or oil.

Pour into mini muffin pans - I sprayed some pam in first  - and bake for 20 minutes at 350.   It made 48 little mini muffins.  Pretty simple and oh so good.

Until next time,
Cheers

October Monthly Plan With Me

Have the leaves around you started to change colour yet?  None in my back yard have, but I noticed some along the highway beginning to show gorgeous shades of red and rust. Love this time of the year. It's also time to update my Happy Planner and prepare the October monthly spread. What do you think?

I just love the vibrant reds and oranges and the happy splashes of green and yellow.  I also really liked how the header banner on the left was an L shape, super easy to place too. Not sure what I mean? Check out my quick Plan With Me video below

If you like this sticker kit, and fancy picking one up yourself from Green Darner Designs Etsy shop, make sure you use the code ANNE20 to receive 20% off and mention my name in the order comment box to receive an exclusive freebie!

Tuesdays Treat

Good morning...and do I have a treat for you today!

A month ago, I decided it was time to loose a bit of weight and get back into shape. So I joined Weight Watchers. It was not my first time on this merry-go-round, but I heard they had a new program and a sale...so why not try again. I am happy to report, after five weeks, I have lost 6.8 lbs.

Similar to the points plus program they had before, we still give food a point value, now called Smart Points, to track our daily intake.  The smart points are measured using calories, protein, sugar and fat.  Veggies and fruit are zero points. I get to use 30 points a day.

I want to share with you, some of the great recipes, snacks and treats I am enjoying and how many points they are worth.  Today I am sharing a recipe I made on the weekend for our house warming do.  It's called:

Quick Vegetarian Chili

Ingredients

1 tsp canola oil
1 clove garlic, minced
14 1/2 oz stewed tomato(es)
15 oz canned kidney beans, rinsed and drained
15 oz canned yellow corn, drained
15 oz canned tomato sauce

1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup dehydrated onion flakes
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 tbsp low fat shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large, nonstick, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until aromatic, about 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, beans, corn, tomato sauce, chili powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, onion and pepper; stir well.
  • Increase heat to high and bring chili to a boil; cook, stirring frequently, until chili is thick and flavours are concentrated, about 5 minutes. Spoon into serving bowls and sprinkle with cheese.  It serves 4 people, and a 1/4 serving is worth 7 points for those of us counting.  Enjoy!!

Lemonade Week

Happy Monday everyone, this week my Classic Happy Planner is featuring a sample kit I received from Green Darner Designs called Lemonade.  So bright and cheerful.

When I begin planning my week, I take the pages out of my planner and lay them on my table. Next I flip to the monthly view, to make sure I don't forget any important dates for that week.  I divide my weekly view in the vertical planner into three categories. Top row is for appointments.  Middle row is for my To Do lists.  Bottom row is for tracking and memory keeping. How do you set your weekly planners up?

How many of you would like to see me do a Plan With Me video?  Comment below or on my Facebook page....we could do a Facebook Live.  What do you think??

Don't forget, today between 11:00am - 3:00pm EST if you place an order on the Green Darner Designs Etsy store and use code ANNE50, you will get 50% off your order!  Its a flash sale.

Stop by tomorrow for a quick Weight Watchers awesome recipe. You'll be glad you did.

Cheers
