Stamp Of The Month - Painter's Palette Week #4

I can't believe it's the last Wednesday in June already.....which also means, its the last week to show you samples of the new stamp set - Painter's Palette.  I really love the versatility of this stamp set, it can be used for so many occasions, in conjunction with other stamp sets or on its own.  Today I added the ice cream cones...( from the stamp set Honeycomb Happiness, which was a Free stamp set earned during Sale-A-Bration) ...popping off and falling off the easel.

You might be able to tell I am a little partial to the ink splots ha ha.   I used my blender pen to colour in the ice cream cones, with a touch of Wink of Stella  added to the ice cream....probably a bit hard to see in this picture.  The card base was Melon Mambo card stock.

So as a refresher....below are all four of the cards made with Painter's Palette.  Which one do you like the best??  Comment below and it's yours!!

For Your Little One

I tried to count last night how many people I know that are pregnant right (7)!!!!    Must have been something in the water as my Nan used to say.  Naturally the crochet hook came out to make some baby blankets and wee little outfits.....but every gift no matter how big or small, hand made or store bought, deserves a lovely card to go with it.

I just purchased a really cute stamp set from Stampin Up called "Made With Love" ....this is going to come in really handy!!!

Check out the first card I made with it.  Sold this particular card at my Colourful Cards Open House this weekend...but it's so cute, I might make it again using other colours of cardstock. What do you think??

If you would like the instructions on how I made this card, please leave me a message below....or sign up for my July Class...there's a good chance we will be making this or something similar!!   See Classes and Events for information and registration.

If you would like to receive notification of upcoming CLASSES AND EVENTS in and around the Kemptville, Ontario area, please click on this link to be added to my gmail group list.

Have a great week,

Open House This Weekend

It's been 4 months since I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator, to get a discount on the lovely stamp sets and beautiful paper products....and to keep current with colour trends.  I didn't expect to be putting on monthly Classes or holding Workshops and Stamping Club's in my home on a regular basis.  I did expect to make lots of cards and sell them at vendor shows.

I can honestly say, I am really enjoying this fabulous craft.  Its so relaxing...and the joy I get from giving a card just fills my heart.  Nothing beats a home-made card made with love....and there are so many occasions that call for a card.

This weekend, I thought I would share my love of card making with all my friends by having an Open House.  Not everyone wants to attend a Class or Workshop, but may just want to check out my cards, or fall in love with a particular stamp set....or beautiful designer series paper and card stock.  It's drop in style...stay for a minute, ten minutes, an hour...up to you.

I will have 8-10 stamp sets out on display, each with two or three sample cards.  Like the one above.   All the new In-Colour Stampin Ink pads, matching Card stock and Embellishments.   Then there will be the Stampin up products...Envelope Punch Board, Acrylic Blocks, Foam Pad and so much more.

Come and check out my Project Life album....see my recent trip to Vegas with my Dad.

Naturally I will have some refreshments and snacks on hand...AND everyone who attends will receive a little thank you gift from me.

Come learn about my July Classes, Workshops and Stampin Club.

Here are the details...hope you can drop by??

Thanks Again

I love sending thank you cards to people.  I send thank you cards to customers who shop with me each month.   Here is my May thank you cards for customers.

I used the cute little Whisper White Note Cards, the now retired "Have a Cuppa" paper stack and some sweet little fabric flowers my friend gave me...adorned with a little pearl.

Earlier this week, I gave a co-worker a thank you card.   Why?   Well I have this little dog, Alfie.  He is a toy poodle and due to some major health issues, we had to have all his teeth removed when he was 10 years old.  Little tinker is 14 now, totally deaf but still a bundle of black energy.

So naturally, we cannot give him hard food to eat, has to be canned soft food. put it mildly, stinks ha ha.  So I bought a cover, didn't fit.   Used aluminium foil....kept falling off.  Bought another hard plastic lid from Walmart....not even a close fit.  Then along comes co-worker. She sells Avon in her spare time, and handed me an Avon Just For Pets brochure.  I was so excited...they had Pet Food Can Cover sets, only $7.99 and they are SILICONE!!!   Oh my gosh...they fit beautifully.  I am so family is so happy...and Alfie is always happy.  Here is the card I gave her.

I used Crumb Cake card stock, the lovely new Dapper Denim card stock and some Whisper White for the sentiment and elephant stamp...from the new Love You Lots stamp set.  This stamp set is only available to Hostesses.

My Stamp of the Month - Painter's Palette Week 2

I love getting new stamps.  The possibilities seem endless ...and there is always a need for a card, whether it's a thank you, I love you, happy birthday...or just a little expression of love.

To give you an idea of just how versatile our stamps are, I thought I would try something new.   Each month I will pick a stamp set....and every Wednesday show you a new card made with that stamp set.  Giving you at least 4-5 card

I chose Painter's Palette for June's stamp of the month.  I made this particular card last night, while crafting with a friend.  I just love the little splodges of colour.  The flower pot was from another stamp set, but you can see the could put anything into the frame!!

I used Black card stock for the base, Flirty Flamingo card stock for a layer and stamped onto whisper white.   I used flirty flamingo ruched ribbon and accented with pretty little pearls.

Just as a reminder, here is the card I produced last week for my June Stampin Class, which acts as Card #1 in this mini series.

I hope you like my first two cards using Painter's Palette.

June Class Fun For All

This past Friday, it was my June Stampin Class.  Four ladies attended...three are becoming quite the regulars...and we made these cards using two of the new stamp sets.  "Sitting Here" and "Painter's Palette".

I have to say, I have fallen in love with the stamp set "Sitting Here".  It boasts 14 photopolymer stamps....featuring an old wooden swing, three different types of pillows, a cat, a dog curled up asleep, his basket, a little bird, grass, plant pot and four salutations.   Imagine how many great little scenes you could make with this.

I made up 4 variations myself, trying to decided which one I would use in my June Stampin Class. Here's a closer look at the one I chose.

I taught the ladies how to "mask" the impression the plant pot was in front of the swing and a chance to work with either Aqua Painters, Blending Pens or Stampin Write Markers to colour the scene.   I used Crumb Cake card stock as the base, a layer of Old Olive card stock and stamped onto Whisper White Thick card stock.

The other card the ladies worked on "Painter's Palette", features 9 stamps.  A great way to add a splash of colour to your cards. With birthday wishes or expressions of friendship, this is a really nice stamp set.  Here is a close up of the card.

I had so much fun using all the new "In-Colour" ink pads Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  Keeping the colour splashes to the bottom right hand side of the Whisper White card stock, with a piece of the new "Playful Palette Washi tape in a diagonal line from left to right.   Just out of interest, have any of you ever used Washi tape on any of your cards??   It's such a useful little tool.

The easel was stamped on a scrap of white card stock, cut out and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals.   The card "topper" was then adhered to a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock with Multi Purpose Liquid Glue and mounted onto the white card base, again using Stampin Dimensionals.

Such a great class....we chatted, crafted, had a cuppa and crafted some more.  My ladies all went home with a new catalogue, AND a little gift from me.....

A wish list pad to keep track of their favourite products, plus a bookmark of the 5 new In-Colour inks and cardstock.   A fun night.....hope you can make the next one??
