Out With The Old, In With The New Blog Hop

I am so excited to be taking part in first ever Blog Hop.

I am part of a group of Stampin Up demonstrators who are training with Janet Wakefield, to make this a remarkable sale-a-bration for our customers.  There are 20 of us, so make sure you hop over to each of our blog posts, each one leading to the next.  You will see the link at the bottom of this post.

So our challenge for this blog hop, is to create a project using a Holiday Catalogue product and a NEW item from the Spring Occasions/SAB catalogue.  I knew I wanted to feature the Merry Mice stamp set....they are so cute, marching along carrying gifts.  Straight away I thought of birthdays...and the new Party Animal suite.

To make this card, I used thick Whisper White card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" for the base.  A piece of Island Indigo card stock 5 1/4" x 4" and a piece of the new Party Animal Designer Series Paper 5" x 3 3/4".  A piece of Emerald Envy card stock 1 1/2" x 5" which were all layered.  I stamped the Merry Mice on a piece of vellum 1 1/2" x 5" which was then adhered to the Emerald Envy.  The stamp set I used was Balloon Adventures (coming January 4, 2017) for the It's Your Birthday which I stamped and then die cut with the Oval Layering Framelit dies.  I used the new Emerald Envy 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon to embellish.

Happy Birthday Rosette

So now Christmas is over, what do we do with all the left over Christmas DSP? Its way too pretty to just chuck out, and I hate the idea of it just sitting in the cupboard for another 12 months.  So I put my thinking cap on.....and came up with this interesting card.

I used the lovely "This Christmas" designer series paper and made this cute rosette boasting the snazzy Happy Birthday sentiment.  Which by the way comes from the new stamp set Window Shopping due to be released January 4, 2017 in the new spring Occasions catalogue!  Want to see how I made it?   Check out the video below:

Project Details:

Card Base:   Thick Whisper White 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Circle
Cherry Cobbler 7" x 2 1/2"
DSP for Rosette:  1 1/2" x 12"
DSP 7" x 2"
Whisper White Circle

I hope you enjoy the video, be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel and like my Facebook biz page to catch all the latest news and tutorials.  For those of you in the North Grenville, Ottawa area, click on Classes and Workshops tab above, to find out when my next Class is.  Hope to see you in the craft room.

Love Sparkles

Boxing Day...what was it like in your part of the world today?  Here in my small town, just outside Ottawa, was freezing rain. So I didn't feel like braving the roads to find some bargains. Instead, I played with my new products from the Spring Occasions catalogue. As with all new stamp sets, I like to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) at least one project from the catalogue. It's a great way to get the creative juices flowing.  Check this one out.

I used the gorgeous new Falling In Love designer series paper (5" x 5") die cutting a circle in the middle with the layering circle framelits.  I stamped the hearts from the new stamp set Love Sparkles in Blushing Bride and Delightful Dijon on a Whisper White card base 5" x 10" scored at 5". The word Love was stamped on Vellum with Stazon Ink and True stamped in Blushing Bride on scrap white card stock. Little sequins were added to add that touch of sparkle. I hope you liked this sneak peek. Good chance something like this will appear in the Card Buffet coming soon!!

Wishing You a Merry Christmas

No doubt many of you are rushing around getting all your last minute Christmas supplies....yeah, me too!  Hopefully you can take 10 minutes to sit down, put your feet up and read my blog. Today's card is for you..... Merry Christmas!!

This was one of the pretty November Paper Pumpkin cards, which I thought were a little too small.  So I took away the white card back that was behind the velum sheet, and added Dapper Denim to give it that night sky look.  Then used a Whisper White layer spotted with dots and stars...and adhered it all to a Dapper Denim card base, our regular A2 size.  5 1/2" x 8 1/2".

Well....time to go wrap gifts now.  Wishing you ALL a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and see you next week with another sneak peek and news about my Open House/Card Buffet!!

Time for Tea

This month, I did a couple of Christmas craft vendor shows, selling off the pretty Christmas cards I have been making for the past few months, and some 3D paper items.  My favourite to make (and fill with candies) were the tree ornaments and also the cute t-bag holders.  Both were very popular.  You can find a picture of the tree ornament on my Facebook page is a photo of the t-bag holders.

This particular set of t-bag holders were made by special request for a local dance studio teacher to use as thank you gifts.  Her dance studio The Workshop Dance Studio located in Kemptville, Ontario offers all kinds of dance classes, from Tap, Jazz, Night Club Aerobics, Yoga and even Line Dancing (which I had a go at and really enjoyed!!).  Check her out, and pop in to try a class....I might see you there.

Product List

Hope you like this project, I might make some more in the new year using different stamps and colours and make a video to show you how easy they are to make.   Would you like that??  Leave a comment here, or on my Facebook page.

Have a great weekend

Tags of Joy

Earlier this month, I held one of my specialty workshops - a product based class, featuring the wonderful Tin of Tags.  I too became a customers that day, and sat with the lovely Kathie as we happily put together our tag kit, while chatting and drinking tea.  It was a very, very pleasant Saturday afternoon.

After she had left, I kept looking at my tags and thinking, they are way to pretty to use.  Then I thought, what if I turned the odd one into a Christmas Card...literally just took a completed tag, and put it on a card front?  What do you think??

I think it turned out really nice, and a great way to savour the gift tags a little longer.

Check out ALL the tags we made that day, which came with a lovely little tin to store them all afterwards.

If you like this project you may want to check out the Year End Closeout sale, as both the Tin of Tags and the Tin of Tags Polymer stamp set are on sale as they will be retiring at the end of this month.  Get it fast, while supplies last.

For a list of the products used to make the card, see below:

Be sure to check out my blog on Wednesday, I will be releasing my first ever you really can come make a card with me wherever you live!!

Have a great week

December 16th Class

I bet your wondering where I have been?  Its been a few days since my last post and I didn't even do a Stamp of the Month yet!!   Truth is, I have been sick with my first cold in about two years.  Totally forgot how awful it makes you feel, and how tiring it all is.  I am feeling better now, and super excited about this Friday's Class.  December 16th.  Check out what we are going to be making.

Yes indeed, certainly worth the $10 fee.  Three birthday calendar pages....a pretty card you could use for Christmas or for New Year, and a matching bottle tag for gift giving.    How much fun will this be??    To register and reserve your spot, either email me at or click GOING on my Facebook Event Page.   There will be a surprise draw for those attending, and if you leave a message on the event page, you will earn a second ballot!!

See you in the craft room!!

On Sunday afternoon, I took part in the Kemptville Farmers Market - Christmas Market held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.  Oh my....such fun.  It was warm & dry (compared to being outside in a parking lot), lots of selling space, great vendors with incredible home made produce and products, Christmas music and busy as heck!!   Check out one of the many cards I had on display for sale.

Made this one using the wonderful Christmas Magic stamp set, which is now on the retiring list and on sale for $21.60 (regular $27.00).   So if you want this cute stamp me soon or go directly to my online store and order it before its gone.  You have until the end of December!!!
