Just Sitting Here

Early yesterday morning, I arrived back in Canada, after a fabulous trip to Las Vegas with my hubby and son.  We met up with my father and brother, who flew in from England, and spent the week together...watching shows, playing the slot machines, walking till our muscles hurt and eating....oh gosh, so much eating!! I had an amazing time.

From the bridge at the Bellagio looking up the strip

Didn't particularly like the fact that I lost a whole nights sleep coming back, or that the extreme heat appeared to have followed us home....but glad to be back in my own bed, and eating regular sized portions.

I was super glad to get home to a Stampin Up parcel!!  Especially as it contained the project life items I had ordered.  I have tried scrapbooking before, but found it too tedious, so thought I would give Project Life I try.  Its like scrapbooking, but quicker and easier....yet still the fun of creative design.  I am going to start with the Vegas trip and see how I get on.  I am also planning to do a Project Life Class...and have ordered more stuff to share with you all!!

I did miss making cards while I was gone, so spent the entire day today playing with my new paper products!!  Using one of my new stamp sets, "Sitting Here" and the new In-Colour ink pads and card stock (all due to be released on June 1 in the new catalogue), I created this lovely little card.  I combined a few Pinterest designs to come up with this one.  Hope you like it.

Hostess Thank You Cards

My last post was about customer thank you cards..but how about Hostess Thank You cards??   If you are part of a direct sales company ..i.e. Mary Kay, Partylite, Thirty-One, Youngevity, Stella and Dot and you do home parties, wouldn't it be nice to give your Hostess a simple Thank You card for opening up her home to friends and family allowing you to showcase your fabulous products?? It can be as small as a little 3" x 3" card like these....

You can give it to her during the party or afterwards to thank her for a great time. They are so cute and easy to make...but if you don't have time, I can certainly make them for you ..with handmade envelopes too. $5 for a set of 6.

You could always go slightly bigger, this one I made using our lovely notecards...

You can match the colours to your company colours, so many options.

Contact me at baashunt@gmail.com for more information about my card classes or to order your own Hostess Thank You cards.

Fun For All - May Class

Well what fun we had on Saturday morning.  The May stamping Class participants got an extra bonus project to go with the two cards we made.

It was a thank you card from the fabulous Paper Pumpkin.  They stamped the eight sided card with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party, then attached the orange foam letters to each panel.  After which the ladies put together a little Kraft box to hold the fold out card while I made the tea.  It was really exciting to see what different patterns each of them came up with, letting their imagination run riot.  A great way for them to try the Paper Pumpkin ...pretty sure they enjoyed it.

The other cards we made were...a Happy Birthday card, using the beautiful Garden in Bloom stamp set, which featured a Vellum overlay on Whisper White, layered onto Old Olive cardstock.

And using the recently retired English Garden Designer Series Paper cut using the collar fold technique adhered to Hello Honey cardstock.

It was certainly a lovely morning, filled with laughter, chatting and crafting.

I know I totally enjoyed myself and the company.  If you are interested in coming to one of my stamping classes....check out the Classes and Events tab at the top of the page to see when the next one is.  Dates for June will be released in the next day or so.

Class This Weekend

Last night, I was scanning Pinterest, looking for another card idea that would fit my Class projects for this weekend.   I had already designed one card, using my new stamp set Garden In Bloom which is so adorable, as is the matching designer series paper...but I needed another.   Typically, we make two cards during the two hour class.  As I was searching, a thought hit me.....why not offer the two cards, PLUS a special thank you gift for attendee's.   Something fun to showcase Paper Pumpkin!!

So for this SATURDAY's CLASS....attendees will receive a bonus project/card to make....and the exciting news for you is....there is still room in Saturday's class.   So sign up now to REGISTER!!

Class fee is $10 for two cards, OR FREE with a $40 order.

All the cardstock, designer series paper, adhesives, embellishments, envelopes and refreshments are provided.

Oh and yes, I did find the perfect card design to fit the class projects, which I am excited to share, and show you how to make.

Cheers

Mothers

So how was your Mother's Day this past weekend?   Was it fabulous??  Mine was lovely.  One of my son's was in Toronto with his band, performing at the Canadian Music Week.  He's a drummer, so yes, I am glad he has finally moved out at twenty six years of age, but I did miss having him around this weekend.  My youngest son was home, and treated me to a lovely breakfast, including strawberries all spelled out to say MOM.

I didn't make a card for my Mum....sadly she passed away at 80 years of age 18 months ago, but I was honoured to make not one, but four Mothers Day cards for a friend.

I used several different stamp sets, colours and cardstock.  Let me know below in the comments which is your favourite, and I will tell you how I made it.

If you are interested in learning how to make your own colourful cards....click on the tab Classes and Events above for more information and to register for my next class.  There is a Class this weekend!!

Have a great week,

Birthday Wishes

Earlier this week, it was my cousin Janet's birthday  She lives in England, so of course I don't get to see her often.  She's a bit older than me (five years) and was my idol growing up.  I would often stay over at my Auntie's house and our Jan and I would sleep together in her single bed, two little girls, giggling and talking into the night.  We caused mischief at our Nanna's house, screamed with laughter when out with my Mum....and almost got thrown out of a restaurant once!!  She taught me all sorts of things growing up, and I was sad to leave her when I moved to Canada in my mid 20's.  We meet up occasionally, New York City or when I fly home for a vacation.....and we still get into mischief...even at our age ha ha.

To wish my cousin a very Happy Birthday, I sent her this card.

I used the Rose Wonder stamp set, Rose Red cardstock to layer on the Whisper White card base and the Rose Red Classic Stampin Pad to colour the rose using my blending pens.  Old Olive for the leaves.

Special Birthdays

A friend of mine from work asked me to make a special birthday card for her this week.  It's so exciting when I get requests like this...while I love teaching others how to make their own cards, there is something wonderful about the trust someone else puts in you, to make a card for them.  This was not just any old birthday, but a 50th.

I knew I wanted to use the Number of Years stamp and/or Die set, and the Its My Party designer series paper.  My friend also mentioned they were having a BBQ to celebrate with family so I dug up the perfect stamp  - it looks like a stack of hamburgers ha ha ( which was actually free in a British card magazine).....so I set to work to make a masculine 50th birthday card.  I ended up making two....

Which one do you think she chose??? Comment below, it will be fun to see your responses.

Don't forget, you can click on any of the highlighted links above to take you to that item, in my Stampin Up store.
