Frame It

I have been seeing quite a few large framed stampin pieces on Pinterest lately and thought I would like to have a go.  Our DSP (Designer Series Paper) is just so lush...it's a shame to cut it up and send it off on a card.  So I thought it would be fun to cut it up.....and frame it.

I chose the Candy Cane Lane DSP and cut each square of designer series paper into 2.75 x 2.75 pieces and layered each on a piece of 3 x 3 Real Red cardstock.  I fussy cut the gingerbread houses, and other embellishments and added a square of gold glitter paper for some pizzas. The squares were all layered onto a piece of 8.5 x 11 Whisper White thick cardstock.  I am quite pleased with how it turned out and a great new way to display the beautiful paper Stampin up puts out.   Imagine one for each season, just replace the inside with some cool new pieces.

Lovely As A Tree - #4

I have not posted much this past week, not feeling so well right now.  Luckily for me, making cards and playing with pretty paper and embellishments, actually makes me feel better.  So check out this pretty card I made, using my stamp of the month - Lovely As A Tree.  This has been such a beautiful stamp set to work with, and I am sure I will be using this many times over....not only this Christmas, but the entire year.

Here is a fun fact, I had to recall this card from memory.   I had attended my first ever card night last November at Sandy's house, (now my friend and upline) and from that...booked my own workshop in the December.  This card, or something similar to it, was one of the cards we made.  I just loved the black and white...clean and simple look it has.  I used the sentiment from the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set....and stamped it first, before embossing with Softly Falling Embossing folder.  What do you think?

Your friends get to "make and take" a card and you get all the hostess benefits and rewards.

Have a great week,

Lovely As A Tree - #3

Not sure what happened yesterday, but I completely forgot to post my stamp of the month sample, Lovely As A Tree.  I could blame it on the not so good day I had at work yesterday, or perhaps the fact the Blue Jays lost and are now out of the World Series.  Or maybe it was the excitement of going into the City to visit my oldest son and his lovely girlfriend....but whichever explanation you take...I still forgot ha ha.   So without further ado, here it is:

Isn't it pretty?   A forest of fir trees.  I have to admit, the white ribbon I used was something I had at home in my pre-stampin-up craft box, and the sentiment is now retired.  Boo....this one Sassy Salutations, is one of my favourites...but if you want to know the list of current items I used, see below.

Hope you enjoy CASEing this card.  If you would like to learn how to make Colourful Cards like these, please check the tab above....CLASSES AND EVENTS for October's schedule.

September Thanks You Cards

What a fabulous month September was...between Stampin Up's fabulous specials, my Colourful Cards Class, a great crowd for the Colourful Cards stampin club night, lots of new babies born and my wedding anniversary.... I sure did make lots of cards!

Here are the thank you cards I recently mailed out to all my wonderful customers who shopped with me in September.

I used the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamps set....whisper white cards stock and various matching inks and card stock for the thank you banners.   Funny thing....I used the heart punch to flag the ends of the thank you banners, just to give it a different touch.  Hope you like them....and for those receiving them (if you have not already) keep an eye on your mail box!!

If you are interested in learning how to make your own Colourful Cards, please check the upcoming Classes and Events in the tab above...or check my facebook page at www.facebook.com/colourfulcardsbyannehunt to see whats happening.  Would love to have you join us for a Class.

Have a great weekend

So Many Thanks

With it being Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, I thought it was fitting to tell you about this beautiful set of cards I made for a colleague at work.  She is from down east, and recently went home with her sister, to celebrate her mother's 80th birthday. By all accounts, it was quite the surprise...and she had a lot of people to thank for the help.   So she asked me to make her some special cards.  It was a natural choice to use the Serene Scenery paper stack. What do you think??

I used thick whisper white card stock, and used my aqua painters and some crumb cake to lay down the sandy beach...then used Wetlands stamp set for the beach grass.   A 2" x 4" strip of the beach scene from Serene Scenery, layered with Lost Lagoon retired cardstock.    If you wish to CASE (copy and share everything) the list of products used is below with links directly to my store.

Product List
Lost Lagoon 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock
Lost Lagoon 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock

$8.75

Wishing you ALL a very Happy Thanksgiving....I am off to enjoy the rest of the weekend with my family.  Talk soon.
